Karen Wood (formerly Johnson) is a Licensed Medical Aesthetician and Registered Dietitian, specializing in anti-aging, pigmentation and acne. She performs medical grade aesthetic procedures to transform and transition clients into a life of beautiful skin.

Karen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University in 2001 with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. She trained and worked as a clinical Registered Dietitian at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, before returning to Atlanta in 2004. Her experience in nutrition ranges from childhood and adolescent weight management to adult medical nutrition therapy. She continued her work in nutrition and specialized in neonatal nutrition where she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Northside Hospital. Karen has always had a passion for skincare and realized the important link between skin and nutrition. She returned to school to become an Aesthetician, graduating from Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics in 2007. Karen immediately began working for a prominent dermatology practice in Atlanta and built her clinical aesthetic experience for the next 9 years. She embraces the ability to help patients improve their skin and self-confidence.

In January of 2017,  she launched her new business DermaTrition, Karen loves combining her skin and nutrition expertise to help promote beauty from the inside out. When you see Karen for skincare, you get the added bonus of discussing your diet and getting tips on healthy eating. Her clients love her, not only for her knowledge of skin and nutrition, but for her ability to provide them with lasting results, focusing on the whole body.

Karen is married with 3 children: her "bonus son" Robert, 17, Christian, 8, and Grace, almost 3.    Her husband, also an entrepreneur, owns a popular Atlanta comedy club, Relapse Theatre.  She enjoys yoga, church, ofcourse comedy, and simply just loving on people.  She stays extremely busy with her business, homeschooling her 8 year old and staying on top of the science of skin and nutrition.
